Finishing behind only Bill Cook and Dick Irvin in NHL scoring, Howie Morenz led the Montreal Canadiens in both points and spirit during the 1926-27 campaign, with the Habs losing in the Semifinal to the eventual Stanley Cup champion Ottawa Senators. Diminutive in size but massive in historical importance, this rare original mini panoramic photo features the 1926-27 Montreal Canadiens. At 5” x 20”, the period print by noted Canadiens photographer Lucien Desjardins sports his stamp with Mont-Royal address on the reverse, with “1926-27” over the bottom left. The glossy stock image depicts the full club and management posed outside what is presumably the Montreal Forum, with Howie Morenz, Herb Gardiner, Aurel Joliat, George Hainsworth, Pit Lepine and others all lined up in their Habs finery. A bit of warping has occurred to the image – easily rectified by a quality framing, with a few creases and edge wear present, with toning to the reverse.
