Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Golden memories of the Windy City’s WHA team are conjured up by Paul Mara’s 1974-75 Chicago Cougars game-worn jersey. The fight strap is cut and a chain stitched “73” year patch is sewn inside the right rear tail of this gamer with Wilson size 46 tagging in the neck, a style worn during the first half of the 1974-75 season. The distinctive white and green striping on the Cougars’ gold durene jerseys, the fantastic gold thread cable stitching of the team logo on the sewn on green twill crest and the green and white twill numbers on the left breast as well as on the sleeves and the back are an unforgettable look from the rebel league of the 1970s. Game wear includes pilling inside the sleeves and faint marks on the front.
Surname letters are heat-screened green vinyl on a nameplate and there is evidence of a long former nameplate.
