Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Some of hockey’s all-time greats combine here and add up nicely, with Rocket Richard’s classic 1953-54 Parkhurst card leading the way chronologically. Crease-free and with an EX appearance, card #24 has light staining/soiling to be aware of and is joined by a Doug Harvey card (G) from the same year. An off-centered Jacques Plante Parkie from ’59-60 is an appealing EX-MT, with Plante action cards, (’54-55 #98 EX, ’55-56 #71 VG), also present. Boom Boom Geoffrion’s ‘61-62 Parkie is a beauty NM, while Jean Beliveau’s Parkhurst card from ’63-64 (#89) is similar but off-centered. Notable Gordie Howe cards include his forever-popular ’63-64 Parkie (VG+), as well as Mr. Hockey cards from ’69-70 (no number) and ’71-72, both also at VG+. A foursome picturing number four, Bobby Orr, date back to his ’67-68 Calder Trophy card (EX), with ’70-71 OPC #3 (VG+), ’71-72 OPC All-Star #251 (VG+) and ’72-73 OPC #129 (EX+) also carrying some weight. The key rookie cards of the ’71-72 O-Pee-Chee set are present, with Ken Dryden and Guy Lafleur looking EX in our eyes and Martin Dionne an off-centered VG-EX. Other notable RCs are those of Tony Esposito (VG+), Gilbert Perreault (EX) and Brad Park (EX-MT+), with the likes of Gerry McNeil (’54-55 #1 VG), Geoffrion, Henri Richard, Beliveau, Lafleur, Bobby Hull, Darryl Sittler and Bobby Clarke among the rest and contributing to this appealing stash.
