Mike Sillinger was the most well-traveled player in NHL history and this photo-matched beauty is from his time with the Vancouver Canucks, the third of 12 teams he played for over the course of his 17-year career. Sillinger was clearly in demand as he played 1,049 games with Detroit, Anaheim, Vancouver, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, Florida, Ottawa, Columbus, Phoenix, St. Louis, Nashville and the New York Islanders. He totaled 240 goals, 308 assists, and 548 points from his first three games with the 1990-91 Red Wings, who selected him with the 11th pick in the first round of the 1989 NHL Draft, until his last seven games with the 2008-09 Islanders. He had 37 points (17 goals, 20 assists) in 1996-97, his first season of two and a half seasons with Vancouver from 1995-98. Sillinger’s 1996-97 Canucks game-worn jersey is from the last season Vancouver wore these colors before switching to the maroon, silver, navy and sky blue Orca theme. It is photo-matched to two Getty Images photos, each taken on March 3, 1997. Getty photo #279240 shows the big diagonal black mark above the NHL shield crest on the right rear tail, and Getty photo #298805 shows the longer black mark in the yellow stripe below the No. 2 on the right sleeve. The Canuck Place patch is sewn on the right shoulder, CCM and size 58 flag tags sit in the back of the neck, the CCM and NHL logos are embroidered on the right rear tail and the fight strap is inside the back. There are seven team repairs, including four on the left sleeve and three on the right sleeve. More game wear includes loads of pilling on the front tail, board burns and black marks on the sleeves, black marks on the numbers on the right sleeve, a long diagonal mark on the left front tail just above the stripes, and a bit of blue paint transfer on the yellow stripe below that, and a few black marks on the lower left of the gorgeously embroidered “Flying Skate” Canucks crest on the front.
