Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
A charter member of the National Hockey League that set up shop way beforehand in 1909, the Montreal Canadiens lay claim to the most Stanley Cup championships in NHL history with a total of twenty-four (24) and have had some of the best players in the history of the game to don their famed bleu, blanc et rouge. Offered here, we present this pair of practice jerseys worn by various players of the club during the era of the mid-1990s. Both CCM made examples with Maska and size "54" labeling affixed to the inner collars, the reverse hem of each has had the CCM logo embroidered into them. With one red in colour and the other a baby blue, the front of each jersey displays both the Canadiens and CCM logos in layered tackle twill while the sleeves and verso of both remain blank. Featuring pro on-ice elements such as reinforced elbows and a fight strap inside both jerseys, each shows signs of wear through things such as stick marks, board burns, interior pilling and small spot stains while the blue one also sports battle scars via red coloured board paint transfers. Additionally, the red jersey has been signed over the front crest by Saku Koivu and the blue one has been autographed by Montreal legends Guy Lapointe & Yvon Lambert with all the signatures done in black marker ink and displaying without issue.
