Sutiing up for a total of 128 National Hockey League games over the course of his career as a member of the Detroit Red Wings, winning a Stanley Cup with the MoTown club in 1950, Max McNab would take his talents to the old Western Hockey League in the early-1950s, suiting up with the New Westminster Royals from 1952-53 to 1958-59. Also serving as New Westminsters bench boss for a trio of seasons in the early-to-mid-1950s as well while also playing, helping the Royals to a pair of playoff appearances, offered here is this pitcher presented to McNab by the Royals for the 1955-56 season in which he served as player-coach and posted sixty-one (61) points in seventy (70) games played. Measuring approximately 12" in height with a diameter of 4" for the base, a screw on cap with a cork interior is found over the pour spout. Named the WHL MVP during the 1954-55 season, the trophy sports engraved horticulture details near the top of the body that goes all the way around the piece in the same area, an additional engraving reading "Coach - Max McNab - From The N.W. Royal's Hockey Club - 1955-56" is observed over the front as well. Remaining in excellent condition overall despite its age, light scratches are observed throughout the piece as well as light areas of tarnishing observed as well. Additionally, light tarnishing and scratches are present on the inside of the base and the piece comes accompanied by a McNab Family LOA.
