Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015

The Canadiens official captain during the teams late-1950’s dynasty and unofficial captain before it, Maurice Richard’s iconic stature was such that he was the first non-politician in Quebec to be given a state funeral. This Bauer Montreal Canadiens Richard jersey has been signed by the legend. With Bauer tagging in the collar and The Rockets famous “9” on back, this tie-neck jersey has full tackle twill nameplate, crest, numbers and captains “C”. Richard has signed in the top of the team crest in black sharpie and the signature is beyond reproach. In excellent condition with cut fight strap, a few tiny holes are apparent from a former frame mounting, but these are barely noticeable. This sweater was part of the 1998 Sports Celebrities Festival auction for the benefit of the Quebec Special Olympics, with our consignor winning this jersey along with 2 Forum seats and a book on its history for the winning bid of $6,250.00.
