Grand opportunity here to acquire a significant Rocket Richard gamer, used to score regular season career goal number 452. From a championship, dynasty-launching season, the CCM Pattern Made Professional model stick has the Raymond Hardware Sporting Goods stamp on one side of the shaft while the other was signed by number 9, “452e But de Maurice Richard, To Lonnie, best wishes.” With “Richard 9” stamped on the shaft, Richard’s standard black-taped knob/ grip and black bulldog tape covering the blade (a few strands of tape are loose at the toe) which exhibits two time cracks and a small chip at the tip, the stick shows good game use but remains solid. Our research pinpoints goal number 452 as the first of two in an 8-1 win over the Maple Leafs on February 16, 1956, at the Forum. Moore and Johnson assisted on the goal, the Rocket’s 30th of the season, marking the eighth time in his career that he reached the plateau, breaking his own record! Harry Lumley was the victim, with brother Henri who also scored twice setting up Maurice later in the first period. From the career of one of hockey’s most feared goal scorers, this stick is a joy to hold!
