Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Produced by Boffey in the early-1990s to be displayed at the Maurice Richard museum in Montreal, we have Richard’s 1944-45 Prince of Wales championship trophy. At 13” tall, the silver-plated and wooden miniature replica of the Prince of Wales Trophy displays beautifully, with "HRH Prince of Wales Trophy” and “Maurice Richard” engraved on a detailed plaque on the front side of the 2 ½” wooden base, with “1944-45 Club de Hockey Canadien Inc” on the reverse. The trophy has acquired a nice patina, with spots of loss showing along the top rim. Richard would score 50 goals in just 50 games during the 1944-45 NHL campaign. An LOA from the Richard family will accompany this important award.
