Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Commemorating legendary superstar the Rocket and his 626 career goals (544 regular-season and 82 playoffs), we offer a desirable vintage 1960s Maurice Richard “626” transistor radio by noted maker Marconi. Puck-shaped with a diameter of approx 4”, a colourful “9” Marconi label with crossed hockey sticks is affixed, with an engraved facsimile Richard signature in gold. “6 Transistor” and “Japan” are embossed on the reverse, along with “Model 626”. The radio exhibits some scuffing and scratches but generally displays very well and still present is the original leather hand strap.
Also included is a “Weider” wrist builder which was never removed from its packaging and pictures the smiling scoring legend in the upper right corner. “Maurice Richard says you can develop explosive hockey shooting power!” is on the front of the cardboard in English and French, while the back explains the exercises one can do and boasts “Build strong wrists! Score more goals! Fits into your pocket!” Cardboard measures approximately 6” by 9” and is in excellent condition with a few minor creases around the edges.
