Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Hailing from the last Stanley Cup championship the city of Montreal celebrated, we have a Canadiens jersey worn by NHL journeyman Mathieu Schneider in 1992-93. Maska Ultrafil labeling with size “52” fly tag sit along the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the back bottom hem. Fashioned with the most famous team crest in hockey fully administered in tackle twill, the red V-neck has been embellished with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers in matching material, with the 1993 Stanley Cup finals crest over the right breast. Despite having the finals patch which was placed over the centennial crest, the jersey was not worn in the Cup finals. It was worn against Quebec in the 1st round when Schneider was hurt, and he changed to #27 when returning to the playoffs, with this jersey made up with the finals patch in case he went back to his old #8.
Just light use is exhibited on the garment, with a few small marks and faint burns. We should also note that the jersey was originally purchased from Eddy Palchak, with Eddy signing the fight strap.
