Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Seeing use at the outset of one of the greatest goaltending careers the sport of hockey has ever witnessed, we have a stick used early-on by legendary netminder Martin Brodeur, with this highly desirable specimen signed by the all-time wins and shutouts leader. Originating from Brodeur’s former father-in-law and seeing action with either the Utica Devils in 1992-93 or possibly early-on in his rookie season with Devils in 1993-94, the Sher-Wood PMPG 530 has “Brodeur” stamped-on and slightly faded, with the original black tape over the blade and white cloth over the handle and knob. Marty has signed over the top section of the front side of the paddle in silver, with no issues for the signature. A copy of the LOA from Brodeur’s ex father-in-law will accompany.
The stick itself shows light to moderate use, with wear to the taped section of blade, along with a few marks to the paddle. There is also additional wear to the shaft, especially along edges, with the top side edge of the paddle just slightly shaved down.
