Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
A sure sign of things to come, Mario Lemieux spent three seasons with the Laval Voisins in the Q before making his NHL debut with Pittsburgh, with a mind boggling 562 points registered in only 200 games. We have a stick that was issued to Mario during his time with Laval in 1982-83, and it’s been signed by the HOF icon, with additional signatures from Claude Vilgrain, Steve Fulton, Yves Courteau, Jean-Marc Lanthier and Tony Haladuick. A Titan TPM 2020 model, “M. Lemieux” appears over the upper shaft, with a date of “Dec 17 1982” stamped along the underside. Light wear is present on the stick, most likely occurring during storage, with the contemporary ballpoint signatures somewhat faded including Lemieux. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
