A silver medalist at the 1994 Winter Olympics, goaltender Manny Legace was drafted by Hartford and made his NHL debut for the Los Angeles Kings, in 1998-99. A Stanley Cup champion with Detroit in 2001-02, Legace served as backup to Dominik Hasek throughout the 2002 Stanley Cup playoffs and finals while wearing this Red Wings jersey (Legace played part of a single game in the playoffs on May 7th vs the Blues). “Goalie Style” labeling with “58” sizing is affixed to the collar, with KOHO and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with the classic Red Wings team crest with embroidered detailing, “34” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in single twill. The 2002 Stanley Cup finals patch resides over the right breast. Sporting a few dark marks to the front along with a small tear, there are additional faint marks to the sleeves and reverse, with light pilling to the collar. Getty Image #763136 (June 10, 2002) is showing the white loose thread on the upper right edge of the "3" on the right sleeve, but the image is not high resolution enough to call a definitive photo-match. The “Playoff Set” team patch is screened to the inside hem, with a COA from the Red Wings to accompany.
