Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
One of very few throughout the past century of NHL hockey to add his name to the distinguished list of legendary superstars that have secured 1,000 career points, Luc Robitaille joined the exclusive membership during his 15th season, notching the milestone marker on Oct 11, 2000 vs St Louis. This "1,000 Points as a Los Angeles King" award was presented to the superstar by the team. At 12” x 15”, the thick dark glass plaque with beveled edges and backing features a full-colour Kings logo above, with text beneath listing the particulars including “The Los Angeles Kings congratulate #20 Luc Robitaille” and “1,000 Points as a Los Angeles King”, with the date and opponent also listed. The plaque remains in stunning high-grade, presenting marvelously with no issues whatsoever. We should also note this is the second matching "1,000 Points as a Los Angeles King" award from his personal collection, with Classic Auctions selling a previous example in 2011. A signed LOA from Luc Robitaille will accompany this important milestone award.
A portion of the sales from the Luc Robitaille personal collection will benefit the Echoes of Hope Foundation. Founded in 2007 by Stacia and Luc Robitaille, Echoes of Hope strives to awaken the spirit of hope in the lives of children, youth, and young adults in need by alleviating barriers and helping them reach their full potential.
