Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020

Having contact with the Los Angeles Kings during his junior career and introducing himself to first-year Kings general manager Rogie Vachon at the 1984 draft, Luc Robitaille spent a trio of seasons with Hull in the QMJHL before making his NHL debut, scoring a hefty 424 points in a mere 197 contests. Named CHL Player of the Year in 1985-86, the Q later created the Luc Robitaille Trophy for the team that scores the most goals during the regular season. Hailing from either 1984-85 or 1985-86, we have a QMJHL All-Star Game jersey that was worn by the superstar. A CCM label is affixed to the collar, with the sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 48. Styled with a heat-pressed vinyl team crest and “15” over the verso, KOHO sponsorship patches also appear on the sleeves along with “Robitaille” across the affixed nameplate all in matching material. Originating from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Luc Robitaille will accompany this historic pre-NHL specimen.
Exhibiting light game-use as expected, there are a few random marks present including red paint transfer over the upper left and lower right sleeves, with a minor stain just above the right elbow. We should also note peeling to the team crest, reverse numbers and “Robitaille” across the nameplate.
A portion of the sales from the Luc Robitaille personal collection will benefit the Echoes of Hope Foundation. Founded in 2007 by Stacia and Luc Robitaille, Echoes of Hope strives to awaken the spirit of hope in the lives of children, youth, and young adults in need by alleviating barriers and helping them reach their full potential.
