His final NHL goodbye after thrilling Los Angeles Kings fans for 14 seasons spread over a trio of stints with the club, Luc Robitaille would appear in the most playoff games for the Kings franchise while also scoring the most playoff goals – surpassing even Wayne Gretzky. Hailing from that last campaign, we have a Kings alternate captain’s third jersey worn by the superstar in 2005-06. A label with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar, with Reebok and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with a textured Kings’ team crest with embroidered detailing, “Los Angeles” appears over the front band in tackle twill, with “20” over the sleeves and verso in matching material. A patch from MeiGray numbered “C04848” resides on the inside hem, with initials by equipment manager Peter Millar added along with “W” and “PHX” (Phoenix). Originating from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Luc Robitaille will accompany this final season specimen.
Exhibiting just very light game use with no obtrusive marks visible, the jersey remains in gorgeous condition. We should also add that the jersey sports a 2004-05 tag, but was worn in 2005-06 and is listed on the 2005-06 MeiGray population report, and according to said report, the jersey is a "Third Set 2 w/A (And worn warm-up 4/13/06) - Worn for Third set 2 games and during warm-up on 4/13/06" example.
A portion of the sales from the Luc Robitaille personal collection will benefit the Echoes of Hope Foundation. Founded in 2007 by Stacia and Luc Robitaille, Echoes of Hope strives to awaken the spirit of hope in the lives of children, youth, and young adults in need by alleviating barriers and helping them reach their full potential.
