Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020

While any and all notable NHL milestone items are desirable and highly sought by collectors, specimens that originate from epic achievements by those considered the superstars of the game carry excessive importance. We offer just that, with a stick used by HOFer Luc Robitaille to secure his 1,000th NHL career point, and it’s been photo-matched! Occurring on January 29, 1998 vs Calgary, Robitaille assisted on Craig Johnson’s goal at 15:13 of the third to claim his 1,000th point. A Louisville Graphite model, the original white tape over the handle and inserted Christian blade is intact (with “20” handwritten), with “1-29-98 1,000 pt" handwritten over the knob. The stick exhibits nice game-use, with wear to the taped section of blade including the underside, with a few marks and abrasions to the shaft. A signed LOA from Luc Robitaille will accompany this important milestone stick.
Regarding the aforementioned photo-match, Getty Images #381008 and #381004 (Jan 29, 1988) have both been matched to the pair of black marks within the middle of the tape job on the blade, and to the small gap visible within the tape job.
A portion of the sales from the Luc Robitaille personal collection will benefit the Echoes of Hope Foundation. Founded in 2007 by Stacia and Luc Robitaille, Echoes of Hope strives to awaken the spirit of hope in the lives of children, youth, and young adults in need by alleviating barriers and helping them reach their full potential.
