Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
The only Los Angeles King in history to receive the coveted Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s top rookie, Luc Robitaille earned the prestigious award with an impressive inaugural campaign that included scoring 84 points in 79 games. The eight-time All-Star was also selected by the Professional Hockey Writers' Association in 1986-87 for the NHL All-Rookie Team. This trophy was presented to the HOFer by American Express for his inclusion as a member of the All-Rookie Team. At 10” in height and featuring a mounted bowl over a finished 9” x 9” x 6” wooden base with beveled edges, a plaque has been affixed listing the particulars including “American Express 1986-87 NHL All-Rookie Team” and “Luc Robitaille”. With just minor wear to the base including a chip and tarnishing to the bowl, the trophy displays beautifully, and will be accompanied by an LOA signed by Luc Robitaille.
A portion of the sales from the Luc Robitaille personal collection will benefit the Echoes of Hope Foundation. Founded in 2007 by Stacia and Luc Robitaille, Echoes of Hope strives to awaken the spirit of hope in the lives of children, youth, and young adults in need by alleviating barriers and helping them reach their full potential.
