Jacques Plante Auction March 2006
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/28/2006
An important supporting cast member who contributed admirably to the Canadiens’ four consecutive Stanley Cup titles in the last half of the 1970’s, Yvon Lambert could always be counted on for toughness and 20-plus goals a year. Yvon’s red, white and blue Habs road jersey worn during the championship run is by Wilson with a frayed company tag in the collar indicating size 46 and a “77” year tag sewn in the inner front hem. With a garter-style fight strap, the jersey exhibits great game use with a total of 14 team repairs; nine mostly small circular affairs on the front, two on the left sleeve and three on the back. Good interior pilling throughout and a 1-inch burn along the back hem which went unrepaired are also of note. Some nice hacks in the Canadiens crest and “Lambert” is sewn onto a satiny nameplate. Sensational jersey is being offered to the hobby for the first time.
