Edmonton Oilers Auction 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/16/2005
A hero in his native Czechoslovakia, Jiri Hrdina was finally allowed to join the Flames following the 1988 Calgary Olympics, having been drafted by the team in 1984. Appearing in nine games during 1987-88, Hrdina then helped Calgary to the Stanley Cup in '88-89 and won two more Cups with Pittsburgh – not bad for a 4-year NHL career! This mid-Eighties white mesh CCM Flames jersey has "48" added in ballpoint to the half-detached company tag in the collar and a CCM patch sewn onto the outer rear hem. The red and gold striping is knit and a 1988 Calgary Olympic patch is sewn onto the left shoulder. "Hrdina" is sewn on a white mesh nameplate in tackle twill letters. Light but obvious game use with two small burns at the left elbow and a couple of small black stains on the Flames crest.
