The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
Outstanding photos feature 4 Ottawa Senators players and can be dated to 1933. The foursome is led by the Kilrea brothers, Hec and Wally. Hec helped the Senators to the 1927 Stanley Cup, scored 36 goals in 44 games in 1929-30 and played alongside Wally on Detroit's back-to-back Cup winners in 1936 and 1937. Also included is Hib Milks, a player who had the distinction of playing for 4 long-defunct teams (Pirates, Quakers, Americans and Senators) during his NHL career. The on-ice pose is that of Ottawa-born Harold Starr, a legend in his city for kindness as much as his all-round athletic ability. Photos measure 5" x 8 1/2", are in beautiful crease-free condition and give a great look at uniforms and equipment of the day.
