Leo Dandurand is best known in hockey circles for having been one of the three men who bought the Montreal Canadiens in 1921 and for building them into the "Flying Frenchmen" featuring many of the top players of the era. Also involved in the promotion and progress of baseball and football in Montreal, Dandurand penned this 1-page letter to Canadiens publicist Camil DesRoches in April of 1963. In French, Dandurand thanks DesRoches for his kind words during a Toronto vs. Detroit telecast concerning Dandurand's election to the Hall of Fame. Dandurand admits that he was enormously touched and sincerely thanks DesRoches. Dandurand died in June of the following year and his signature, let alone a handwritten document, rarely surfaces.
