Superb Wilson dureen tie-down Bruins road jersey was worn by the prolific Phil Esposito at a time when Espo, Orr, Sanderson, Cheevers and their teammates had the city of Boston at their feet. Esposito smashed his own single season scoring record in '70-71 with an unheard of 76 goals and as many assists and the Bruins as a team scored 399 times. After their upset in the spring of 1971, the Bruins were again the pride of the regular season with their 54 wins and 119 points in '71-72. Esposito banged home 66 goals and his 133 points gave him his 3rd scoring championship in 4 seasons. In the playoffs Phil contributed 24 points and the Bruins erased the previous year's disappointment as the Stanley Cup returned to Boston. This fabulous Espo gamer has the Wilson company tag in the neck with a "52" added in ballpoint. The Bruins crest, Phil's assistant captain's "A", as well as the "7"s on the back and sleeves are all in tackle twill and sewn-on. A double garter-style fight strap is in the tail. Plenty of great game use here with 8 small team repairs on the front joined by a huge one measuring 3" x 2", all of them in the black above the striping. The striping on the left sleeve includes 8 circular repairs while a thin 3-inch job is in the black of the same shoulder. Other repairs include a rectangular one on the right sleeve, 2 small circular ones on the back and two along the hem, one at each seam. Nice interior pilling as well as pilling at the neck and at the cuffs to mention. Some snags and pulls throughout and a couple of stains along the front hem round out the wear. Dazzling jersey from Phil Esposito's heyday when he was without rival has been autographed on the "7" on the back with Espo adding "7 HOF 1984". A letter of authenticity will be included with this gem from a grand time in Boston franchise history.
