The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
Gorgeous gold ring commemorates the Montreal Canadiens' first of 4 consecutive Stanley Cup championsips in the late 1970's. After streaking to the league title with 58 wins and 127 points, the Habs went 12-1 in the playoffs and swept the 2-time defending champion Flyers in the Cup finals. Members of the winning squad received mementos similar to this salesman sample. The big zircon and blue stone on the table are surrounded by "Club De Hockey Canadien" and "1976 NHL Champions". A raised Stanley Cup partially covers the Canadiens shield on one shank while the other features a red and white enamel Habs logo, a puck and crossed hockey sticks below and "Palchak" above. Stamped on the interior band "Balfour 10K", the ring is size 10 1/2 and in excellent condition with just a little of the red enamel in the Habs logo chipped away. A beauty from the start of another Canadiens dynasty. Comes with a LOA.
