The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
The Montreal Canadiens claimed their 24th Stanley Cup championship in the spring of 1993 as Patrick Roy wrote another chapter in his clutch playoff story by backstoppng the Habs to an incredible 10 straight overtime wins. The victory was of course sweet for all team members but especially so for coach Jacques Demers and veteran Denis Savard. Their names are joined by other executives, players, coaches, trainers and equipment managers on this stunning miniature Stanley Cup. Carbonneau, Muller, Keane, Leclair, Bellows, Damphousse, Desjardins and the supporting cast will never forget their incredible run to the Cup. The silver plated replica of the oldest trophy in major team sports is in gorgeous near mint condition and one of only a few '92-93 Cups to be offered for public auciton. This one was presented to Michele Lapointe, in charge of the team's media relations, a monumental job in a city like Montreal! She will sign a letter of authenticity that will be included with this very special trophy, still in its original blue protective pouch from Boffey and its NHL-identified presentation box.
