The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
Marcel Dionne was on his way to a career high 59 goals when he was selected to play in the 1979 Challange Cup, a 3-game series pitting the best of the NHL against the best of the Soviet Union. The Series was played in February at New York's Madison Square Garden and replaced the annual NHL All-Star game that year. This is the golden pocket watch that Dionne received for his participation in the series, won 2-1 by the Soviets. Produced by Movado, the watch measures 1 1/2" in diameter, is in perfect working order and is nicely engraved "Marcel Dionne" underneath the Challenge Cup logo on the inner side of the front case. Obtained directly from Marcel Dionne, the charming and seldom-offered souvenir will come with his signed LOA.
