The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
By the time the 1985-86 NHL regular season had come to a conclusion, only one man, Gordie Howe, had scored more career points than Los Angeles Kings' legendary center Marcel Dionne. The tremendous skater, great playmaker and consistent scorer passed Phil Esposito on Friday, March 20th to become #2 on the all-time point list. The event took place where Espo had woven much of his magic, Boston Garden, with a 1st period assist on a Jay Wells goal providing Marcel with his 1591st point. Dionne's old accomplice Dave Taylor was also in on the goal which tied the game 1-1 before the Bruins went on to a 6-3 victory. The Non-Approved InGlasCo Bruins game puck saw some obvious action before it was picked up following the historic moment; there's some wear to the Boston logo, some skate slices and a chip on the back edge to mention. A thin piece of white tape stuck on the front reads "Marcel - 2nd All-Time". The tantalizing memento is from Marcel Dionne's personal collection and will be accompanied with a LOA signed by one of hockey's greatest competitors.
