The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
After becoming only the 4th player to reach the 600-goal plateau in December of 1984, Marcel Dionne tied Bobby Hull for 3rd place on the all-time goal list when he used this puck to score #610 in a January 12th game against the Winnipeg Jets. A Saturday night sellout crowd of 16,005 at the Forum witnessed the historic goal, scored on Brian Hayward in a 6-4 win over the Jets. The happy event was part of Marcel's 14th NHL season which was one of his finest; his 126 points were 4th best in the league and his 46 goals extended his own league record to 10 for most 40-goal seasons. Dionne's 1500th career point was also registered and he was named the Kings MVP for the 6th time. The Kings (Ziegler) game puck with which Marcel scored #610 has some cracking in the front logo to mention along with "Winnipeg 610" written in ballpoint on the piece of white tape on the back. The all-time greatest L.A. King will sign a LOA that will accompany this terrific souvenir.
