The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
Although the 1982-83 season was a disappointing one for the Los Angeles Kings who lost key players to injury and finished in the Smythe division basement, team leader Marcel Dionne stayed healthy and continued his productive and milestone-reaching ways. Marcel fired home 56 goals including career #500 and reached the 100-point plateau for the 7th time, thus breaking the mark held by Phil Esposito and Guy Lafleur. This is the Approved InGlasCo L.A. Kings puck (Viceroy slug) that Dionne did it with on Saturday, March 26 in Los Angeles. Marcel and Dave Taylor assisted on linemate Charlie Simmer's power play goal at 6:02 of the 1st period to tie up the game with the Oilers 1-1. Andy Moog was in goal for Edmonton which ended up skating to a 9-3 win. The record-breaking puck shows a little game use and had "100th points - 82-83" added to the front logo in ballpoint. The tempting souvenir from arguably the greatest player never to win the Stanley Cup will come with a LOA signed by Marcel Dionne.
