The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
Marcel Dionne's 1978-79 season in which he set personal bests of 59 goals and 130 points meant he needed more than just a small sports car to transport home the trophies he received at the Los Angeles Kings' annual awards night. This lot includes two of five massive trophies he was presented with that night. These monstrosities tower 40" high and each include four pillars which support a covered cup on top of which stands a women statuette. A golden hockey player atop a covered bowl is on the base of each award, the engraving on which indicates Marcel received them for leading the team in assists (71) and for having been selected the 1st star more than any other King. There's an indentation to the right front pillar of the assists trophy at the right and a missing hockey stick on the other, but otherwise the stupendous trophies have been preserved in excellent condition. A letter of authenticity signed by Marcel Dionne will accompany these impressive trophies.
