The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
After a season with the Drummondville Junior Rangers in 1967-68, Marcel Dionne left home to pursue his dream with the St. Catharines Black Hawks. There, Dionne was a scoring sensation, racking up an even 100 points in just 48 games and then winning the Ontario Hockey Association's scoring championship the next 2 years with 132 and 143 point outputs. Mr. Everything in St. Catharines took home considerable hardware at each season's end. His trophy collection includes Rookie-of-the Year and Top Scorer trophies from 1968-69, as well Most Points, All-Star and MVP trophies from '69-70. Dionne's 62-goal '70-71 season earned him Leading Scorer and MVP trophies from the Black Hawks, as well as the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy as the OHA's leading scoring. The marble-based trophy has a chip and a crack in the base while the big golden hockey player has lost his stick over the years. All other trophies have been well preserved and are in excellent or better condition. The remarkable collection will be accompanied with a letter of authenticity signed by the former junior hockey phenom.
