The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
Marcel Dionne was in the midst of his most productive years when he was called upon to once again represent his country, this time at the 1981 Canada Cup tournament. Newcomers to the Canadian line-up included Gretzky, Bourque and Bossy but for the only time in Canada Cup history, the Soviets skated off with the trophy. Dionne did his part during his team's 6 games, scoring 4 goals and adding an assist. Marcel's white mesh jersey is by Sandow with thecompany tag in the neck indicating size "large" and "Sandow SK" screened onto the rear hem. The stylish maple leaf logo, the numbers and "Dionne" across the back are also screened-on. The light game use includes a few small burns, a couple of snags and some board paint on the sleeves. A few pinkish marks from laundering can be spotted on the back. Another classic worn by one of hockey's all-time greats, the jersey will come with Marcel Dionne's signed LOA.
