Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025

The perfect companion pieces to your complete card sets, we offer a nice group of 6 vintage empty wax card boxes, including 1970-71 O-Pee-Chee Hockey (Series 1), 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee Hockey (Series 1 and Series 2), 1973-74 O-Pee-Chee WHA Hockey (3 WHA posters and a single wrapper also included) and 1983-84 O-Pee-Chee Hockey (2). The 1970-71 box is complete with the back aprons at each side torn, allowing the box top to fold completely back when opened, with this otherwise unnoticeable when the box is closed. Tape has also been used in a few spots to the interior, with a bend to the front apron and a label with typed name affixed to the top section of the box lid. There are also a few scuff marks on the underside of the box. Next, the 1971-72 Series 1 and Series 2 boxes are both complete, with the Series 1 box having torn corners at each side, with this unnoticeable when the lid is closed. The Series 2 box has no tears, and displays beautifully, with both boxes showing scuff marks on the underside and a few creases. The 1973-74 WHA box has torn aprons on the front and back right sides, with the lid detached on one side where it should connect at the perforation to raise the lid for sales display. There is also a number of creases and some minor dirt spot staining. The accompanying wrapper has a large edge tear, with the posters showing just the expected fold lines, light corner wear and toning, with Bordeleau, Campbell and St. Sauveur. Lastly, the 1983-84 boxes are both complete with no apron tears, with each showing some edge wear to the front apron, with one of the boxes showing just half of the lid pushed in at the perforations. Overall, a great collection ready for prominent display in your collection.
