The first city to host a Stanley Cup parade while also starting the tradition of the victors drinking from the Cup, Winnipeg is the only city aside from Montreal to hoist Lord Stanley's coveted trophy in the 19th century. Innovative during the burgeoning of the sport, River City is also responsible for a number of firsts in the sport including use of the precursor to the modern goalie stick, as well as sporting the first goaltender to wear goal pads. The modern face-off also originated with the westerners, picked up by the hockey gods in eastern Canada upon matches vs the Winnipeg Victorias. All originating from the hockey hotbeds of Winnipeg and Manitoba, we offer a collection of 6 antique framed hockey team cabinet photos (one is unframed, and from Montreal). Included, we have the Valour Road Hockey Team from 1926 (13" x 15", boys team, famous road in Winnipeg originally named Pine Street, renamed for 3 Victoria Cross recipients in WWI that all lived on the street), Dominion Bank Hockey Team (19" x 22"), American Federation of Musicians Local 501 Brandon (18" x 21"), 1920-21 Club de Gouret in Montreal (12" x 14"), Native Sons of Canada Juvenile Champions of Winnipeg 1930-31 (panoramic, 8 1/2" x 17") and M.A.C. Hockey Team 1927-28 (12" x 13 1/2", set in 18 1/2" x 21" frame). Most of the photos and frames show light to moderate wear.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for any damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
