Calling all Gotham collectors! This lot offers a great grouping of New York Rangers and New York Americans programs and photos ranging from the 1920s to 1970s and totaling 125 items, along with a 1942-43 New York Rovers Scrapbook. Included, we have 3 Americans programs including from 1929-30, 1935-36 (Stanley Cup semifinals Game 2 vs Toronto on March 31, 1936, won by the Amerks 1-0) and 1938-39, followed by a dozen Rangers programs ranging from 1941-42 to 1955-56 including 1955-56 Stanley Cup semifinals Game 3 vs Montreal on March 24, 1956, won by the Habs 3-1). Most of the programs show light to moderate wear, with a few having issues including 2 programs having detached covers. The photos include 29 original 1950s 8" x 10" photos issued by the Rangers fan club with the original mailing envelope. There are stamps on each reverse, including Bathgate, Henry, Gadsby, Prentice, Worsley, Horvath, Lewicki and others (some of these have the player's name handwritten on the front along the base), and 22 misc. photos including 9 team-issued with Villlemure, Davidson, Seiling, Sandstrom, Francis and others. There is also Clint Smith and Bryan Hextall circa-1940 program insert photos, 1996-97 Rangers training camp guide with Gretzky/Messier cover - and postcards, with a complete set of 20 from 1988-89, 18 from 1991-92 and 17 from 1996-97. Originally from the Ella B. Clifton collection, the 1942-43 Rovers scrapbook features a large binder with dozens of intriguing images inside the old Madison Square Garden. Included are over 140 real 4x5 photos of EHL action and some candid off-ice shots of New York Rovers players (some of these are now detached). Dated and often with next-day newspaper captions, this find will keep you busy, busy! There is also a loose photo signed by Cal Gardner personalized to Ella, as well as a pair of 1940s Rovers MSG programs. This is the ultimate lot for collectors of vintage New York hockey items!
