This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/29/2025
Released during a Major League Baseball season that would see the New York Mets make an improbable comeback over the Boston Red Sox in the Fall Classic to claim the franchise's second (2nd) World Series crown since 1969, offered here is this collection of four (4) unopened boxes of Topps' 1986 Baseball release that have all been recently returned back from inspection and certification at BBCE (Baseball Card Exchange). Bright yellow and blue in colour with "Baseball" loudly displayed over the top fold up display lid along with imagery of the set's card of Pete Rose and the original per-pack-purchase-price of .35 cents, each box features a total of thirty-six (36) packs on the interior which all contain a total of fifteen (15) cards and a stick of bubble gum. All having been sealed in BBCE's recognizable cellophane wrapper, the boxes all display in overall good condition with each showing light surface wear over their top fold up display lids as well as over the sides, front and back in some cases while light edge and corner wear is observed throughout the quartet of unopened survivors as well. All sporting box bottom cards, two (2) of the boxes show the cards of Carlton Fisk/Dwight Gooden/Pedro Guerrero/Ron Guidry while the other two (2) show those of B.Saberhagen/D.Murphy/F.Valenzuela/P.Rose. With the box bottom offerings all partially covered by BBCE holograms and labels reading "1986 Topps Baseball Unopened Wax Box", key cards found in the checklist include those of names such as Cal Ripken Jr., Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens, Pete Rose and the rookie cards of Len Dykstra and Cecil Fielder, the boxes create numerous opportunities and raise questions as to keep it sealed or bust it open await our lucky winning bidder!
