Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
The prestigious first numbered card in the first Imperial Tobacco hockey card set depicts Hall-of-Famer Frank Patrick, an important member of hockey’s royal family. Pictured in his Renfrew sweater, Patrick would soon head west with brother Lester and form the Pacific Coast Hockey Association. A Stanley Cup champion in 1915 and inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a builder in 1950, offered here is this copy of Patrick's esteemed rookie card from Imperial Tobacco's 1910-11 C56 release. Recently garnering a mark of VG-EX 4 for its efforts after being assessed by the graders at PSA, strong colours are observed over the front of the card along with pleasing centering and corners that still display with some sharpness even after all these years. Affected by moderate even toning over both sides of the card, the treasure is housed in a fresh PSA holder that remains in excellent condition.
