Playing his college football in the NCAA with the University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles and earning the nickname "Space Ghost", Jearld Baylis would go on to play nine (9) seasons north of the border in the Canadian Football League with the likes of Toronto, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Baltimore. Named he CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award in 1993 and earning all-star nods on four (4) occasions plus a Grey Cup championship in 1995, offered here is this Roughriders jersey worn the Baylis during the 1992 season. A long lightweight offering made by Speedline Athletic Wear, a company jock tag displaying a size "XL" designation is affixed over the front hem while the sides have been taken in to Baylis' liking. Styled with Roughriders logos screened on over both shoulders, Baylis' number "98" appears in dual layer green-over-black screened on numerals over the front, reverse and both sleeves while "Baylis" is spelt out in matching style dual layer tackle twill letter across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Of note, the Canada 125th anniversary patch worn by all the league's teams during the season has been removed from the right breast (its outline is still easily seen) and the nameplate on the upper reverse is a replacement, with the original one having been longer than the one that is currently in place. Riddled with heavy game-wear throughout indicative of being worn for an entire season, team repairs totaling around at least fifty (50) are seen throughout the front, reverse and both sleeves along with hit marks, sweat staining, pilling around the collar and sleeve ends and wear to the screened on numbers.
