Playing the first years of his professional career with Bruleurs de Loups and HC Lugano before coming over to North America, Cristobal Huet would be selected 214th overall by the Los Angeles Kings at the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and go on to play a total of 272 games in the National Hockey League with the likes of Los Angeles, Montreal, Washington and Chicago, winning a Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 2010. Inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2023, offered here is this glove and blocker set worn by Huet during his time with the Montreal Canadiens circa the 2006-07 (glove) and 2007-08 (blocker) seasons. Both RBK made gauntlets in Montreal's familiar red, white and blue colourway, both of the "Premier Series II" model gloves have had "Huet" identifiers sewn into them while white "RBK" logos grace the face of each glove. Displaying with heavy amounts of game-wear over each piece including pucks and skate cuts in each, there is fraying to the surface of the leather on the glove at the top of the pocket and base of the hand while the blocker shows a small amount of fraying to the bottom edge as well as stitched closure at the top where there is normally a zipper. Furthermore, the blocker shows some wear to the palm, including a small hole to the tip of the middle finger. Also showing some pilling/fraying on the inside of each piece, both gloves have been photo-matched, with the glove, hailing from the 2006-07 season, matched with Getty Image #73391995 (February 14th, 2007 vs New Jersey) to the cut at the top of the pocket and to the puck mark through the "R" of "RBK". For the blocker, worn early on in the 2007-08 campaign, it is matched with Getty Image #577124484 (October 3rd, 2007 vs Carolina) to the skate cut neat the bottom of the white section on the front as well as the popped threads in the same area and various puck marks over the face. Additionally, also included with the gloves is an unopened McFarlane figure of Huet from their 2006-07 season that remains in near perfect condition, showing just some minor wear to the packaging.
