Originally issued by the Imperial Tobacco Company of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the company's 1912 C46 release was the only Canadian tobacco issue to feature baseball players. Featuring a checklist of ninety (90) cards picturing players from the International League, which had teams in both Canada and the United States of America, the 1912 season was the first season under that name after the old Eastern League collapsed. With its design resembling a plaque over the front, offered here is this collection of twenty-two (22) cards from Imperial Tobacco's C46 release. With the cards ranging in conditions from POOR up to EX to EX-MT for their efforts and including an example of Jack Dunn, who was instrumental in bringing Babe Ruth to Baltimore as a rookie, the best of the bunch, five (5) cards found in the condition range of EX to EX-MT include the likes of; 14-Burchell, 53-Truesdale, 55-L. A. Brockett, 68-Pierce and 71-Lee while those seen as being around VG-EX to EX include 23-Elston, 45-Dygert, 52-Jones, 54-Beebe, 58-Stroud (x2), 63-Graham, 69-Gaunt, 70-Fitzpatrick and 78-Hardy. Also including a lone VG to VG-EX range card of James Murray, the rest of the collection includes two (2) cards seen as being around FR to GOOD (16-Barberich and 61-Dessau), a lone PR to FR offering of Fred Mitchell and three (3) cards in the scope of PR condition, including the previously mentioned 19-Dunn along with 49-Corcoran and 83-Shaw.
