Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Toronto’s recent AHL history is covered in this lot that features both a Toronto Roadrunners game-worn jersey and a Toronto Marlies gamer. While the Marlies currently call Coca-Cola Coliseum their home, the Roadrunners were the first AHL team to call the refurbished arena on the CNE grounds home when they played their only campaign in Toronto at the then-named Ricoh Coliseum in 2003-04. J.J. Hunter’s game-worn Roadrunners jersey from the team’s inaugural - and final - season in 2003-04 has a Roadrunners 2003-2004 Inaugural Season patch sewn on the right shoulder and a Toronto Roadrunners patch featuring the CN Tower on the left shoulder. Hunter signed in black marker in the middle of the “2” on the back of the jersey, which has size 56 and SP tagging inside the collar. AHL patches are sewn on the back of the neck and right rear tail, the latter to the right of the embroidered SP logo. Game wear includes some black marks on the front tail and light board burns on the left sleeve. The 2016-17 Marlies gamer was worn by Alex Gudbranson, who played four games for the Maple Leafs’ AHL affiliate that season. The Marlies elaborate crown is embroidered on the white twill maple leaf team crest sewn on the front. Size 58+ and CCM tagging are in the back of the collar, Scotiabank sponsor’s patch is sewn on the right breast, and CCM patches are sewn on the back and rear tail, the latter to the right of the AHL patch. There are a few board burns and an unrepaired hole on the right sleeve and a black mark on the white stripe on the right front tail.
