Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Evolving from benefit games played for Ace Bailey, Howie Morenz and Babe Siebert, the first official NHL All-Star Game took place in 1947, with the original All-Star contests pitting the then-current Stanley Cup champion against a team of NHL All-Stars, with this occurring until 1968. Offered here, we present this collection of eight (8) NHL All-Star Game and All-Star Banquet tickets that date between 1970 and 2016. All measuring between 4" x 2 1/4" at the smallest and 7 1/2" x 3" at the largest, the group includes examples from 1970 (game ticket), 1972 (banquet ticket). 1974 (game ticket), 1986 (game ticket), 1990 (game ticket), 1993 (game ticket), 1999 (game ticket) and 2016 (game ticket). All featuring beautiful imagery and artwork as well as event, venue and location information featured over the front, all the included tickets show the to be expected handling wear over their edges and corners while some show some light surface wear, creases and folds as well. Of note, the 1970 ticket sports the majority of the creases seen throughout the group while the 1972 banquet ticket is marked with "1603" and "Table 119" over the reverse in a mix of blue ballpoint pen ink and green marker. Finally, the ticket from the 1974 game is torn at one side.
