Playing his college ball with the University of Texas Longhorns before being selected with the 13th overall pick of the 1989 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, Eric Metcalf would go on to play thirteen (13) years in the league with likes of Cleveland, Atlanta, San Diego, Arizona, Carolina, Washington and Green Bay. Offered here, we present this Falcons jersey worn by Metcalf during the 1995 season which saw him lead the team with 104 receptions (7th in the NFL that year) for more than 1,000 yards and helped Atlanta make the playoffs as a wild card team. Made by Russell Athletic and originally issued for use during the 1994 season before being used the year after (nobody wore #21 during the 1994 season and the jersey never had the NFL's 75th anniversary patch sewn on over the left breast), a Russell jock tag displaying a size "44" designation is affixed over the lower front along with a "94" year tag and fly tags reading "100% Nylon" and "4" Extra Length". Featuring Metcalf's number "21" screened on over the front, reverse and both shoulders in dual layer black-over-red numerals, Falcons logos appear over both sleeves in matching style while Russell athletic logos appear sewn on over both sleeves as well. Having had "Metcalf" spelt out in dual layer black-over-red tackle twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse, the NFL's shield logo appears over the bottom of the collar. Displaying game-use via some rubbing/pilling down both sides and some light hit marks over the shoulders, a dirt mark appears over the upper reverse to the right of the nameplate and there is a repair at the bottom of the collar on the front. Additionally, there are some other dirt marks/scuffs/stains throughout the sides as well as some yellowing throughout the sides also.
