Playing his junior hockey with the Kelowna Wings and Spokane Chiefs of the WHL, Darcy Wakaluk would be drafted 144th overall by the Buffalo Sabres at the 1984 NHL Entry Draft and go on to play a total of 191 games in the National Hockey League over the course of his career, suiting up for the likes of Buffalo, Minnesota/Dallas and Phoenix. A Calder Cup champion with the Rochester Americans in 1987 and the first AHL goalie to score a goal, offered here is this Amerks jersey worn by Wakaluk circa 1988. Made by CCM, a lone Maska label is affixed to the inner collar while the CCM logo has been embroidered into the reverse hem. Measuring out to roughly a size "52" but showing a heavily faded size "54" designation over the tag affixed to the inner collar, the front of the jersey is decorated with an Americans team crest that has been administered in a layered tackle twill style while dual layer tackle twill stars have been added atop of both shoulders. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Wakaluk's number "1" in dual layer blue-over-red tackle twill numerals, "Wakaluk" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Retaining its fight strap on the interior, the jersey shows heavy game-wear throughout via red post paint transfers, puck marks, pilling on the interior, spot stains, small team repairs and unrepaired cuts/holes.
