Enjoying a lengthy career in Europe from 1985 to 2004, Viktor Karachun would play in numerous countries including Belarus, Poland and Germany over that time and would suit up with Dinamo Minsk between 1985 and 1993. Also having suited up for his home country of Belarus on numerous occasions, including the 1998 Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan, offered here is this Team Belarus jersey worn by Karachun in the era of the late-1990s when he played with the national team at the 1998 and 1999 IIHF World Championships as well as the Olympics as mentioned above. A Nike made garment that has brand/size "56" and "Made in Canada" tagging affixed to the inner collar, Nike swoosh logo patches have been placed over the reverse neckline and right collarbone on the front. Decorated over the front with a Team Belarus crest over the chest that features embroidered details, the sleeves and verso have had Karachun's number "10" sewn to them in dual layer white-over-red tackle twill numerals while "Karachun" is spelt out in single layer red twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Still sporting the original fight strap on the interior, the jersey shows good game-wear via board burns over both sleeves, stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, red coloured board paint transfers over the reverse and right sleeve, an unrepaired cut near the left cuff, a small tear at the bottom of the collar and fabric snags throughout, a common occurance on these Nike made offerings due to the material used. Also showing a bit of light fraying around the elbows on the interior, Karachun has signed the jersey behind the left shoulder with a red marker ink signature that shows fading from age.
