Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
The namesake of Canada’s favourite donut and coffee shop, Tim Horton’s was founded by the legendary Maple Leafs defenseman in 1964, and partnering with Ron Joyce in 1967, control of the company was assumed by Joyce upon Horton’s untimely death, in 1974. Believed to originate from the settlement with Joyce, where Horton’s widow insisted all of the images of Tim be removed from locations, we have a pair of original framed Horton prints that were once displayed in a Tim Horton’s location. The first is a 20” x 28” print of artwork of Horton in his Sabres uniform set in a large and thick 22 1/2” x 30 1/2"” wooden frame, along with an approx 17” x 25” “The Horton Children’s Foundation” print entitled “The Legend”, with three attractive and accurate images of the superstar, with text over the base. Matted into a matching style frame as the Sabres print, the pair display beautifully.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for any damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
