Created at the instigation of the organizers of the proposed recreated World Hockey Association to serve as its development league, the World Hockey Association 2 was a minor professional ice hockey league that lasted for just a lone season of play and saw the Jacksonville Barracudas win the league's only Presidents Cup championship. Also hosting that year's WHA2 All-Star Game on January 27th, 2004, offered here is this WHA2 All-Star Game jersey worn during the contest by former NHLer, David Goverde. Made by OT Sports, brand labeling displaying a size "60 Goalie" designation is heat-pressed over the inner collar while additional brand logos are found sublimated into the material of the reverse neckline and sewn on over the reverse hem respectively. Featuring a sublimated red, white and blue all-star design throughout its entirety, the front of the jersey is decorated with a gorgeous and large WHA2 league crest that features embroidered details with all-important event patches over both shoulders while the sleeves and verso are styled with Goverde’s number "30" in dual layer white-over-red tackle twill numerals. Having had "Goverde" spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse, the jersey shows game-wear via a number of puck marks over the front and both sleeves as well as red post paint transfer spots over the left elbow area and reverse. Signed by Goverde on the interior with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue, an event tag has been sewn on inside the reverse hem and the jersey comes accompanied by an LOA. Of note, heavy staining is found throughout the jersey, mostly over the cuffs and hem.
