This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Also still one of the most collectable and collected players in the hobby, offered here is this group of six (6) patch/jersey cards all featuring swatches of memorabilia pertaining to "Mr. Hockey". All hailing from various Upper Deck hockey releases between 2001-02 and 2004-05, the cards included picturing Howe during his days with the Red Wings are those of a 2001-02 UD SP Game-Used "Authentic Fabrics" (Mr. Hockey, Gretzky, Lemieux and Bourque) jersey card that is numbered "02/10", 2003-04 Upper Deck Premier Collection "Premier Legends" gold parallel patch card that is numbered "10/10", a 2003-04 UD SP Game-Used "Limited Threads" jersey card that is numbered "67/75" and a 2004-05 UD Ultimate Collection "Ultimate Game Jersey" that is numbered "129/250". Finally, the last two (2) cards to close out the lot, both picturing Howe as a member of the WHA's Houston Aeros, include a 2001-02 UD SP Game-Used "Authentic Fabric" gold parallel jersey card that is numbered "209/300" and a 2001-02 Upper Deck Vintage "Stars of the Decade" jersey card. All highly desirable and found in their original raw ungraded form, all remain in excellent condition with just light wear to the edges, corners and surfaces that is worth noting for accuracy.
