This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
Hailing from a season that saw the Chicago Black Hawks win the only Stanley Cup of the Original Six era that wasn’t captured by Toronto, Montreal or Detroit, offered here is this near-complete assembly of Topps' 1960-61 hockey release. Including sixty-two (62) of the sixty-six (66) cards that make up the complete checklist and missing only those of 26-Clapper ATG, 31-Gendron, 39-McCartan RC and 51-Sloan for completion, most of the assembly is seen as being in the condition ranges of G to VG and VG to VG-EX. Paced by the key rookie card of Stan Mikita that is found to be in the overall range of VG to VG-EX with a small crease that appears on the reverse at the left hand side of the card, other key cards present include; 7-Shack (VG-EX to EX - light red coloured surface "snow"), 11-Bucyk (FR to G - creases at the top left), 19-Vezina ATG (GOOD - light crease in the middle of the card), 20-Shore (VG to VG-EX - light wax staining), 25-Hall (G to VG - light corner wear and a small crease), 27-Ross ATG (VG to VG-EX - wax staining and light red surface "snow"), 36-Worsley (VG-EX to EX - wax staining and slight corner wear), 46-Taylor ATG (VG-EX to EX - light wax staining and slight corner wear), 47-Clancy ATG (VG-EX to EX - tiny right hand side border wrinkle), 58-Hull (FR to G - damage to top border) and 59-Morenz ATG (VG to VG-EX - small ding at the bottom right). For the rest of the set, four (4) cards are found to be in the range of VG-EX to EX, twenty-two (22) cards are in the scope of VG to VG-EX, fifteen (15) cards fall in the neighborhood of G to VG, eight (8) cards are found to be in the range of FR to G and finally, one (1) card shows as being PR to FR. Cool vintage carboard from the NHL’s golden era of the Original Six, don't miss out on these!
